Europe's highest volcano looms large over Sicily, so this family-friendly tour takes you as close to the top as you can. You'll be driven to Rifugio Sapienza, then swap to a cable car and 4x4 vehicle to reach the main crater at about 2,900m above sea level. The views and lunar landscape from here are nothing short of breathtaking.Nature trails, caves, woods, and lava flows typify the landscape that leads to the top of Mt Etna. And after pick-up from your hotel you'll be driven to about 1900m above sea level at Rifugio Sapienza on the south side of Etna, where you'll hop off the bus to unearth some more.On the way you'll learn all there is to know about Mt Etna and its explosive past. And don't worry – there'll be plenty of facts for the little ones to take in, too. Then, you'll get to see it all for yourself during some free time. Switch to a cable car and jump into an off-road vehicle that'll take you rumbling along to the main crater. You'll want your camera for this one.

We hadden een super leuke tourgide fabio die super informatief heel veel kon vertellen over sicily en de etna. En onze chauffeur maximiliano heeft ons veilig overal heen gereden. Het was een hele leuke en unieke ervaring. Zeker een aanrader!!!

Gids Fabio en chauffeur Pipo deden het super, veiligheid voorop, interessante weetjes en soms een grapje. Uitzicht was moeite waard, als je op Sicilië bent moet je toch ook kijken bij Etna. Leuke ochtend gehad!

Goed geregelde excursie. Opstapplaats dicht bij ons appartement. De bus was goed op tijd. De reisleiding was goed op de hoogte van wie wel en wie niet helemaal naar boven gingen en vertelde in de bus al veel over de Etna. Genoeg tijd om naar boven te gaan en nog wat te eten of te drinken. Als je naar Sicilië gaat, moet je de Etna van dichtbij bekijken.

Wat we heel jammer vonden, is dat we zelf in de bus er naar toe moesten aangeven dat we het hele pakket (kabelbaan en gids) hadden geboekt, terwijl de gids zei dat deze trip alleen naar het dorp op 1900 meter ging. Heel vreemd. Na herstel konden we alsnog gehaast de Etna op.Dorp niet kunnen gezien

Prachtige ervaring , maar je zat wel erg aan tijd vast je hebt 2.5 uur en voor wij boven waren( wachttijd) was er al een uur voorbij.

Dankzij de enthousiaste gids Fabio onderweg in de bus al heel veel duidelijke en begrijpelijke informatie gekregen over de Etna. Ook handige en welkome tips werden al uitgewisseld. We kregen duideijke informatie over waar we moesten zijn en hoelaat. Fabio zorgde ook voor de kaarten voor de kabelbaan zodat we niet in de lift moeten staan. De hele tour was goed en duidelijk georganiseerd. Zeer de moeite waard en genoeg tijd !
