Was zu erwarten ist

Pick up from Hotel was on time. The venue was off the beatten track but just what was needed to view the moon and stars. The food was wonderful and guides very knowledgeable. On our night we had a wonderful bright moon which did preclude us from seeing the consultations but through the telescope we did see Saturn with its rings and got close pictures and videos of the moon with the cloudes passing through. All in all a great evening with food, music and instruction.

Lack of prior information from TUI staff regarding having to pay for drinks.. eg water. Staff lovely and stargazing amazing. Food was average and dietary requirement not met and left hungry having missed a missed a food course. Disappointed that the great live artist left half way through evening for another engagement. Was led to believe the experience was remote in the desert but it fact it was just off a main road and felt misled. Not really a desert experience. Shot drinks were nice.

This was an absolutely charming excursion. We didn’t see many stars because it was clouded over but adored lying on the blanket on the desert sand and hearing about constellations. The guide was entertaining, sweet and funny. Dinner was traditional, tasty and a nice change from the hotel. Very short transfer to the restaurant and a lovely guitarist during dinner. A few whines from another guest but you should do this excursion and enjoy the simplicity and simple charm of it.

Bus driver drove too fast for the road in the dark. We're not greeted on arrival at the restaurant and welcome drink contained alcohol with no warning. Music was monotonous and repetitive, really wanted him to stop after first song. Food was very basic and poor quality. Wine and drinks selection poor and ( charged in Euros converted at higher rate!) for an extra soft drink and red wine. The night sky was clouded the whole night with zero stars on display. This event have should been postponed.

Supposed to be a stargazing experience, it was mainly about food and alcohol. We went to see stars and they had 1 telescope between 18 people. It’s not exactly great value for money. We had approximately 1 minute each looking through the telescope over the 4 hour trip. Huge disappointment

Unfortunately it was cloudy and we were unable to see many stars, we were told the trip would be rearranged if that was the case, but it wasn’t The food, described as a delicious local cuisine, was very basic and not plentiful One drink was included, and one of those options was water We thought it was very poor value for money at 70 euros per head The guide who took us into the desert was very friendly and knowledgeable, the only positive Very disappointed Tui

The two tour guides helping with the star gazing were amazing, very knowledgable on the night sky and constellations. We had some cloud cover which made it difficult at times and they were very good at telling us when was best to come and view. The food was basic but a good variety, not sure it catered for all dietary requirements though so best to check.

It was a fantastic evening, the guides were brilliant, helping us take photos through telescopes and were very informative about the stars and planets, and it felt the explanations were good for both novices and people who already knew a bit about the science. We got to lie down in the desert and look at the stars which was brilliant. The only thing that would make it a 10 out of 10 for us would be a couple more telescopes to make the numbers of people per telescope smaller!

Was not keen on the food and there wasn’t much choice given we could only have veg or fish. Most of the evening involved eating and less actually star gazing. Clouds restricted this also that night. The bus was also a very rough ride there and back. Wasn’t a four by four which is what I expected. Definitely not worth the money.

Gids vertelde gepassioneerd.

Star gazing was interesting and quite well presented. The dinner part of the evening was the low point. We sat for almost 75 minutes, with only a drink, not even a bread roll. When the food finally arrived it was tepid and some meat was already dry and didn't appear freshly cooked. There seemed to an emphasis on selling drinks rather than ensuring an enjoyable evening.

The trip started ok but after the welcome drink, it went downhill for a bit. It was a pity. The staff were great but the buffet dinner was free for all, which resulted in the food being stone cold. Then it improved. The desert trek and the guide were fantastic, we all enjoyed watching and learning about the night sky, unfortunately the weather was against them. The guide was funny and informative. All in all a good experience apart from the buffet.

It was a memorable outing and seeing Jupiter through a telescope, and the desert by moonlight, were experiences I will remember for a long time. I have given it 8/10 purely because I didn’t like the food in the restaurant that much - I’m not keen on grilled fish and don’t like chicken on the bone. So, that part of the experience wasn’t really for me. But the service was excellent and the guides were knowledgeable and entertaining to listen too. Overall, I couldn’t fault the service.

As a couple
Excellent
You could be a little clearer on how cold it can be, more than just a jacket would be helpful. The staff and whole trip was amazing though. We really enjoyed it learnt so much. Very memorable part of our holiday.

Excellent
the staff were excellent and regarding the star viewing then there knowledge was excellent. Just a pity that there was a little bit to much cloud but that's nothing the organisers can do anything about that
