We had a great experience. It helped that we seemed to have chosen a quiet day so it was super relaxing and felt personal. Our 'Captain' and driver were both so informative and lovely people. We loved spotting wild life and waving to locals. The toilets at the departure point were super clean. The whole thing felt really safe and so enjoyable

A log of travelling and a bus change to complete the journey made it a long trip for a boat ride down an old river. The complimentary drink was a small juice. We were charged a lot to have a shot of rum put in it, too much … All in all, one of the most dissatisfying trips we have been on abroad.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Amazing Experience on the Martha Brae River! We booked the Martha Brae river excursion with TUI and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, everything was relaxed, well organised and beautifully scenic. Our raft captain, Murphy, completely made the experience. He was brilliant — so knowledgeable about the history of the river and Jamaica, and he told the stories in such an engaging and entertaining way.

All aspects of the event were fun and staff were all well presented, warm and friendly people. Unfortunately my partner slipped and injured her knees and elbow. Your staff were excellent with their very prompt support, reassurance and first aid. An accident form was completed so we feel this was very professional. Our bus/coach driver was exceptional and also very kind, giving further first aid after the super raft experience. Captain Peter was very knowledgeable as our guide on the river.

Would highly recommend this trip. We were staying in a hotel close by the location, so a short transfer in a private minibus with only 5 of us in total. Driver was lovely and we were fast-tracked in. Opportunity to look at souvenir shops beforehand but no pressure. Rafting is WONDERFUL. So serene, relaxing. Rafters talk to you and share facts/knowledge, pointing out wildlife and species of trees. Such lovely people. Photos at end are a fun souvenir for $10USD each. Even our 17 y old loved it!

Exorbitant überhöhter Preis für diese Tour! Ablauf: Abholung im Hotel in Ocho Rios, Transfer zur Rafting Station Dauer 2,5 Stunden wg. Staus. Raftig auf dem Martha Brae ca. 60 Minuten. Rücktransfer nach Ocho Rios ca. 1,2 Stunden (kein Stau). Keine Verpflegung. Es hat viel Spass gemacht, die Verkaufsversuche für Andenken hielten sich in Grenzen.

Not worth the money at all, nothing there other than a dirty looking river nothing to see other than broken trees. It was meant to be around 70 minute journey but we had finished in 30 minutes. All people wanted you to do is buy things, waste of money

We couldn’t ask for a better start to Christmas Day! Our guide was very informative and I didn’t know the story of Martha Brea. The staff at MB were helpful and answered our questions about the hurricane and how it affected the area. It seemed we were the first for the day so it was so peaceful on the raft. We had a great conversation with our captain in the raft - Rasta Dan. It was sad to see the devastation from the hurricane but there was hope and beauty in the signs of regrowth.

The river rafting experience was blissful, so peaceful yet had a great guide with knowledge of the trees and local birds etc who kept us entertained also. Chatting with the guide gave us a sense of the real Jamaica. Down side is the not so subtle 'pressure' of the souvenir shops at the beginning of the river ride and requests for tips. Different nationalities have different preferences in regards to tipping - we always take cash but like to choose when and who I tip, or buy souvenirs

Driver was prompt and courteous. Raft master wanted to get to the finish as quickly as possible, overtaking other rafts so he could get back to the top for more customers. We were only on the raft for a maximum of 30 minutes. We saw no birds as the raft masters were shouting and making too much noise.

Driver of the bus was efficient and on time . Bit disorganised with tickets and life jackets etc on arrival. Rafting was a lovely experience Guide was nice but didn’t explain a lot of things had to ask them a lot of questions for one worded answers. Got a bit pushy when we refused to buy his artwork on the boat.

Mcneil was my Guide he was very informative and courteous towards my son and myself. A really relaxing raft down the river, with our guide talking us through aspects of the Jamaica, and the beautiful greenery that surrounds Martha Brae River. This rafting is calm and relaxing, when you sit on a raft which each guide has hand made out of bamboo. You pass 'put up shops' on the river, you can buy items from sellers (for cash) & don't feel pressured to buy. Remember to bring your water shoes

De tocht over de rivier is super en zeker de moeite waard!!! De rit van en naar het hotel voelt als een Formule 1 rit x10. Het hoort bij de rijstijl op het eiland, maar is soms angstaanjagend tijdens inhaalacties.

We had an excellent experience, sailing down the Martha Rae river on a Bamboo Raft. Our Captain was amazing, who informed us of the history of the river & what was involved in making his bamboo raft. Would definitely recommend !

The excursion was fantastic. The bus driver was courteous and polite. The staff once at the rafting place were so lovely and welcoming. Our captain was brilliant. He had so much knowledge and answered all of our questions, he pointed out lots of wildlife and flowers etc. He even gave us a big lump of limestone so we could use it back at the hotel. Nobody was pushy or forcing you to buy any souvenirs etc. We didn't want the trip to end!

Floating down the river on a bamboo raft was a fabulous experience - totally ruined by the fact we were expected to tip the raft captain £30 and the driver £20 - we had already paid £170 for a 3 hour trip for 2 of us! TUI you need to stop tourists being ripped off.

Transport from Negril a bit too long. Bad organisation either from TUI or from the transport company. Waisted 20 minutes outside an hotel awaiting for people who did not turn up and then were sent to another hotel again no show up!! Needs to be addressed

Was an absolute magical trip down the Martha Brae. Would recommend it as it's so peaceful and our captain McLeod was very knowledgeable and professional. Only thing was it's very expensive and I did think it wasn't good value for your money but we both really enjoyed the experience.

The guide was not in a very good mood (was advised this after the experience was completed when complained to staff) as he didn’t tell us very much about the river or any further information about the experience. It felt very rushed, basic, non informative. However, the rafting itself was lovely, relaxing, & a nice touch with the free non-alcoholic rum punch offered on arrival. The driver was lovely also & helped us out

The rafting experience was relaxing and very informative from the guide. Transport to and from venue was very comfortable and informative. The rafting guide was very informative and really showed how relaxing life should be out in the wild. He did manage to sell us some of his hand made gift pots Around $15 but it was worth it. The only negative is the cost of the trip $190 for two of us and the door to door ecperience took just 3hrs of which 1 hr was on the river.

We were left waiting on Sunday for a trip that was cancelled but none told us. Attended today and it was a chilled row down the river. The river was still high and we were informed it was the same on Sunday so we were lied to! The raft took us down the river which took about 45 minutes to ride the 3 miles through lush vegetation. Our river guide was very knowledgeable about the trees and plants. We stopped at a local shop to purchase souvenirs.

It was lovely to see some nature whilst cruising down Martha Brea and the facilities at the start and finish were good. Some of the info we received was inaccurate though as there was no opportunity to swim in the river and we heard from others that they also got a mud wrap on their feet during the experience which we were not offered (although this was detailed prior).

Loved everything, very beautiful and relaxing. Didn't like that tourists on some passing rafts were allowed to play music...... loud and very disturbing the calmness and quietness of the nature! So nice to listen just the birds' singing over there.......

Excellent
Martha Brae Rafting was tranquil beautiful nature experience. My group really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was personable and knowledgeable. The cost of the tour was on the higher end. I don’t think the tour is worth as $110 per person.

Es war eine englischsprachige Tour, bei dem man ca 1 Std mit einem Floß über den Fluss gefahren wurde. Die Gegend dort ist angenehm ruhig. Leider wurde uns nicht angeboten auch mal im Fluss zu schwimmen, obwohl das in der Beschreibung als Option drin stand. Die Transferzeit mit dem Bus dorthin war ca 45 min, das ist für einen Halbtagesausflug noch ok. Wer eine ruhige Tour ohne viel Action sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

This was a perfect trip for relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful peaceful environment. We took our older teenage children and they loved it too. The guides/rafters were fabulous. Took photos for us, allowed the kids to pose rafting, pointed out wildlife and gave lots of interesting information. It really was a perfect trip. I could have gone straight back to the start and done it again the second we’d finished. Loved by everyone on our bus back too. A definite 5/5 for us!
