Carthage was the capital of ancient Rome's greatest rival and the site of a titanic clash of civilisations. Today, its ruins bear testament to Rome's ultimate victory as you'll discover during this tour, which also takes in Sidi Bou Said. Mariam, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘A good place to get your bearings in ancient Carthage is Byrsa Hill. It's a bit of a climb but the view over the site, the city and the bay are absolutely worth it.'Under renowned military leaders such as Hannibal, Carthage was one of the greatest powers of the classical world. Exploring the site with a guide gives you the historical background and the local perspective on the story of Carthage. You'll see ruins such as the Baths of Antoninus, which were the largest thermal baths in the Roman Empire. It's a great spot to enjoy the thermal waters – right by the sea. Have a look around the amphitheatre and the Tophet sacrificial site before taking a break for lunch.After a traditional Tunisian local lunch, you'll visit Sidi Bou Said, a clifftop village of cobbled alleys fringed by whitewashed houses with sky-blue doors and window shutters. Hamadi unser Guide war super nett und sehr sympathisch. Leider fährt man von Hammamet mit dem Bus ca. 2 Stunden hin und zurück und wenn man als erstes im Hotel abgeholt wird sogar noch länger.

Our pick up was on time but due to confusion on other pickups we had a late start which meant that the trip was always playing catch-up. The highlight for me was the museum and more time could have been spent there. We only had just over an hour. Overall it was a good trip with plenty of content and a good guide who took every opportunity to give background info about the country.

The tour was very good, the guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. He was a credit to Tui. The only negative was the food at lunch. The food was poor and on the cold side.

Le soste nei diversi posti sono troppo brevi, il tour potrebbe essere organizzato meglio in termini di gestione del tempo. Anche il pranzo non ci ha pienamente soddisfatto, in quanto ci aspettavamo qualcosa di più folcloristico e caratteristico rispetto a un buffet in un hotel.

Organisatie van de reis was goed, evenals de reisgids. Iets meer tijd in Sidi Bou Said zou beter geweest zijn. Eerste tussenstop in Carthago was eigenlijk niet echt de moeite . Lunch was bijzonder basic. 75 EUR per persoon vonden wete duur.

Das Museum und Karthago waren sehr schoen. Der Mitarbeiter hat sich sehr bemueht uns die Informationen zu geben. Es wurde in Deutsch und Englisch durchgefuehrt, was manchmal sehr langwierig war. Sidi Bou Said war nicht so besonders, da einfach zu viele Menschen und Haendler.

Our guide was good. Not enough time spent in Carthage ruins - shortest stop on the trip even though it's in the name. Sidi Bou Said stop was too long - not a serene seaside town as advertised, but dropped off in the middle of a marketplace of aggressive merchants selling cheap souvenirs. Bardo Museum was interesting, but felt we could have spent less time there. Unadvertised stop at an essential oils shop felt odd and out of place on the tour.

Totally UNDERWHELMING. The description prior to the (lack of) experi3nce suggested a fantastic experience of exploring ancient monuments. Reality was the first visit to Carthage was to a poorly maintained site that was difficult to explore with safety in mind. Loads of uneven ground an d trip hazards. Following this was the visit to the village which again proved difficult for many on the tour due to the terrain and steepness.. lunch was a write off of cold/ lukewarm meat and tasteless others

Bardo museum excellent but every explanation being done in two languages meant it took too long and became boring. Not enough time at Carthage and only saw the baths, not amphitheatre. Sidi Bou Said way too commercial, just sellers of the same things. Enjoyed but could have been better. So many hotels to drop people off at meant getting home took a very long time.

Die Betreuung war gut, nachdem festgestellt wurde, das ein Führung in deutsch unbedingt gewünscht wird hat man entspricht reagiert und uns kurzerhand mit einer anderen Gruppe zusammen gebracht. Sehr schön.

It was a great day. Mohammed our guide was very knowledgeable and very easy to understand his English. Is also fluent in German, such a talent. Nice lunch at the hotel. Time could have been longer at each venue but obviously there are time restraints. Would definitely recommend.

The guide was very informative. Seeing the mosaics was fascinating. Nice time in the village of Bousaid. Cons: Didn't feel we spent enough time in Carthage. The coach wasn't very comfortable think the structs had gone and felt the bumps.

Places of interest were nice. Only downside was that this trip would be better for age 12+ We had rather lively toddler on our tour. Also would prefer a just English speaking tour guide. Each bit went on too long, him saying same thing in 3 languages.

I wanted to visit Carthage. Most of the ruins were roped off. No informative texts as we walked around. We were there for about 40 min. We spent longer at the museum and Sidi bonsai. Sidi bousaid. The latter was for ?? which didn't interest me at all. The timings should be clear, I could have gone to Carthage in a taxi. I have food allergies and was please that I had the foresight to take my own lunch.

Die Führungen im Museum und in Carthago waren sehr gut! In Bousaid gehen Sie nicht in das Lokal, dass Ihr Guide vorschlägt! Blueblue hat es geheißen. Da kostet der Kaffee 8 DT in den anderen Lokalen 4 DT! Der Guide gibt auch Empfehlung für ein bestimmtes Geschäft, das bessere Qualität hat andere, aber das stimmt nicht. Der Guide sitzt vor der Tür der beiden Geschäfte, protokolliert wer reingeht und holt sich dann die Provision

We were left behind for the White and Blue town and missed this part of the tour. We were last off the bus and then had to wait for traffic. By the time we had got around the corner the group had gone and we were not sure which road to take. Secondly although there is a lift in the musume (we found out later) this wasn't offered to older travelers which meant my wife had to struggle up and down a long set of starirs. On the positive the guides English was very good and he was very knowledgeable

Parfait pour les choses à visiter et parfait pour le guide Ali, compétent, humain, agréable et très efficace. C'est un champion , tenez compte de la remarque , vraiment ! De nos jours , c'est rare. J'ai fait une autre excursion Tui , durant mon séjour mais rien à voir avec Ali.

Die Fahrt nach Karthago können wir sehr gut weiter empfehlen. Der Reiseleiter war sehr kompetent, hat alles in Englisch, Französisch und Deutsch übersetzen. Er hatte sehr viel Hintergründiges Wissen, Fragen hat er kompetent beantwortet Vielen dank an den Reiseleiter und den Busfahrer

Le repas était vraiment pas bon, même les gens en excursion avec nous se plaignaient. Le groupe francophone était mixé avec le groupe allemand, le guide parlait mieux aux groupe allemand et nous parlais en expédiant vite la chose. Le temps sur certains site trop long et pas assez sur d’autres… Très déçu et trop bien vendu pour ce que c’est…

The tour was interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, approachable and informative. He took time to explain things and was happy taking questions. However the lunch was not acceptable as there was no option for vegetarian other than the side salad available. Despite informing the TUI rep -who said we didn't need to let him know as it would be ok- and messaging to inform it was disappointing to get to the restaurant and have no main meals option. Also the need to buy drinks info.

Well organised tour with a good mix of guided explanations and free time to explore a bit more. Lots of explanations from our guide during the bus trip and the different visits. Museum and Carthage are the highlight of the tour. Sidi Bousaid was nice for a quick walk but it was quite crowded. Found it a bit overrated. Very good buffet lunch ! Overall a very nice day.

The guide and driver were wonderful full of information and interesting facts. Overall we enjoyed the trip very much. It would have been nice to know that there was a museum close to the car park in the blue and white village as an alternative to the village itself or how to get down to the harbour if there was enough time. Lunch: basic, simple food in a scruffy, dirty restaurant. Toilets: dirty, no door locks. Places to visit: very nice. Tour guide: nice person, but going through places too fast, especially mosaic museum. He didn't wait for elderly, slower people.

Nous aurions aimé que la visite de Carthage soit plus longue et accompagnée de commentaires du guide sans être une visite libre. Il est dommage qu'il n'y ait aucune reconstitution physique de ce qu'était Carthage avant les Romains. Sidi bou Saïd : dommage de ne pas avoir pu voir le port

Leider wurden wir durch sämtliche Sehenswürdigkeiten gehetzt. Der Guide stand bereit und scheuchte uns bei jedem Stop schnell in den Bus. Es war sehr hektisch. Keine Zeit länger irgendwo zu bleiben. Wir waren dann auch 90 Minuten früher als angekündigt im Hotel. Außerdem forderte er in einer Durchsage im Bus Trinkgeld.

The trip was really well organised. We drove through the outskirts of Tunis to Carthage, and visited the remains of the amphitheatre and buildings. The museum was closed for renovation, but it was still interesting to visit the site. Sidi Bou Said which was a beautiful old village, full of white and blue buildings. The lunch that was included was at a nearby hotel and was really good. The National Museum of Bardo had some fantastic Roman mosaics. Overall, good value for money and recommended!

Die Tour dauerte 11 Stunden, weil sie 2 sprachig war. Der Guide war sehr gut, aber weil er alles 2 mal erzählen mußte (deutsch u. französisch), hatte es sich hingezogen. So blieb auch für Sidi bou said zu wenig Zeit, schade!!!

Pünktliche Abfahrt und Ankunft. Sicherer Fahrer auch in unübersichtlichen Situationen. Sehr informierter Reiseleiter. Sehr schönes Museum von Bardo mit seiner Mischung aus Römischen Mosaiken und der Umgebung des alten Palastharems mit seinen tollen Decken und Wandfliesen. Guten Übersicht über die wenigen Relikte aus panische Zeit und der späteren römischen Überbau gibt. Etwas chaotische Abfahrt von der letzten Station wegen der vielen dort abfahrenden Busse. Toller Ausflug.

Our trip started with our bus driver reserving into a car! The trip was good but felt rushed. Lunch was chaotic but nice. There were some impressive mosaics at the Bardo Museum and the ceilings inside the building were beautiful. We needed more time to explore Carthage, it was a beautiful day and we loved looking at the Ruins. We could have had less time in Sidi Bou Said as we had no interest in the shopping and it was busy but we liked the quaint streets and panormaic views.

10h d'activités ! Génial, sauf que 6h30 ou7h de bus Arène, zéro d'explication quant aux vestiges restant Le repas. Le couscous était bon mais froid. Et que 20 min pour manger. Le musée.Une fois les quelques explications de notre accompagnateur finies, quartier libre. Euh pour 30 min par contre. Le musée est grand, ça mérite plus de temps pour visiter. Quand nous faisons la remarque a l'accompagnateur, il nous rigole au nez. Une chose importe, l'argent que nous leur donnons, c'est tout

Faire plus de 4h30de route allez retour sur une sortie d’une journée c’est énorme! Alors soit vous êtes honnête et vous informez les gens qu’ils doivent passer dans chaque hôtel avant de prendre enfin la route pour la visite soit vous modifiez celle-ci car une moyenne de 30 minute par site c’est trop cher payer pour cette visite et 20 minutes pour avaler un repas de surcroît froid c’est très court ! En bref, il vous faut changer cette excursion afin de pouvoir profiter d’un Bardo au maximum!

Der Trip war schön. Der Reiseführer sehr kompetent. Hier möchte ich auch ein ganz besonderes Lob aussprechen. Ich hätte mir einen längeren Aufenthalt in Sidi Bousaid gewünscht. Das Mittagessen war eher nicht so toll. Kleine Auswahl, zerkochte Nudeln. Die warmen Speisen wurden sehr früh abgeräumt. Nach einer Vorspeise mit Salat und Brot, wurden mir erst auf Nachfrage Teile des warmen Buffets aus der Küche geholt. MfG Stefan Gurgel

- mittelmäßiges Mittagessen. Nach einer Runde Buffet wurde das warme Essen bereits abgeräumt. Das wurde vorher leider nicht gesagt. - Ich hätte lieber auf Sidi Bou Said verzichtet und dafür die Antonius Thermen gesehen. Sidi Bou Said ist ganz nett, aber viel Nepp. + sehr guter Führer und sehr guter Busfahrer

Leider war die Führung zuerst auf französisch und danach wurde alles auf deutsch erläutert
Das ist im Grunde auch nicht das Problem, jedoch wurde im Bus gefühlt bei der Deutschen Erklärung vom Busfahrer aufs Gas gedrückt. Der Bus heulte laut auf und man verstand nichts mehr von der Erläuterung. :(

L’excursion devait être en français. Finalement, des allemands et des anglais étaient également de la partie pour former un groupe d’une cinquantaine de personnes. Le car était rempli. Résultat les explications étaient données dans les 3 langues ce qui considérablement ralenti les visites et limités la quantité d’informations.

Il y a eu vraiment beaucoup trop de temps dans le bus, car nous avons dû passer récupérer des gens dans d'autres hôtels. La partie musée de l'après-midi peut être un peu trop longue, prévenez les gens avant l'excursion pour qu'ils s'y préparent. Le point vraiment extrêmement négatif fut le restaurant, qui fut expéditif. Les gens étaient beaucoup trop stressés et le repas très médiocre.
