De kathedraal van Monreale is een unieke bezienswaardigheid die zeker de moeite waard is. Daarnaast was de wandeling door de straten van Palermo ook interessant. De vrije tijd die je krijgt om wat te eten en souvenirs te kopen waardeerden wij. Verder hadden wij een charismatische gids die erg leuk kon vertellen, dat maakte de algehele beleving beter. Wat nergens vermeld werd was dat we de tour begonnen met een bezoek aan een catacombe waarin letterlijk honderden mummies te zien waren. Bizar.

De gids sprak in Engels en Frans hetgeen op een gegeven moment wat veel wordt. Het bezoek aan de catacomben moest ter plekke apart betaald worden: was makkelijker geweest als dit bij het excursiebedrag zou zijn inbegrepen. De gids was bijzonder aardig maar ook zeer uitgebreid detaillistisch! Het was bloedheet maar dat is eenmaal Sicilië!

We both enjoyed walking around and seeing the wonderful sights Palermo had to offer with the added advantage of a guide telling us where to go and the history behind it. The only thing I would change would be an extra stop for refreshments due to the fact it was so hot on the day

Der Termin wurde leider kurzfristig verschoben und die Kommunikation war teilweise nicht eindeutig. Obwohl wir gut englisch sprechen und verstehen, würden wir bei der Fülle von Informationen eine deutschsprachige Tour empfehlen, zumal die Tour abwechselnd italienisch und englisch geführt wurde.

Salvatore, unser Führer durch Palermo und Monreale, war ausserordentlich professionell; mit seinem Wissen, seiner Freundlichkeit und Offenheit allen Fragen oder Wünschen gegenüber - ein wunderbares Erlebnis, das wir jederzeit empfehlen können. Trotz der sehr hohen Temperaturen (das Wetter hat eben seine eigenen Gesetze), würden wir diese informative Tour zu unglaublichen kulturellen Schätzen dieser Insel nicht missen wollen. Grosser Dank geht an Salvatore! Bravo!!!

Rikke from TUI was v helpful outlining the tour, timing and making sure we knew how much walking was involved as we have some mobility issues. Salvatore Vaccaro was kind and considerate - he had saved the front seats on the coach for us and in churches, he got a chair for us to sit in. He was knowledgeable about history, architectural styles, the religious images and their meanings, geography. fluent in English & French. He made sure we all knew what to expect before each coach stop.Brilliant!

The tour was very helpful and informative other areas and attractions, even though it was a very hot day. Plenty of refreshments available en route. So areas were very steep may not be suitable for some with poor mobility?

Leuke wandeltocht door Palermo! Onze gids gaf ons heel veel informatie over de monumentale gebouwen en de stad zelf, dat was top! Hierdoor duurde de tocht voor het mooie net te lang en bleef er helaas te weinig vrije tijd over om bijvoorbeeld het dak van de Kathedraal van Palermo te bezoeken. Het was leuk geweest als het fantastische uitzicht op de stad inbegrepen was in de tour.

Did not really like the katacombs. Very much enjoyed everything else in Palermo and the cathedral in Mondreaux was outstanding. Our tour guide Roberta was fantastic, so knowledgeable a lovely girl who built up a great rapport with our group. She was outstanding.

Lors de la réservation de l'excursion nous devions avoir un guide francophone. A la prise en charge, malgré que nous nous sommes exprimés en français auprès de la guide, celle-ci n'a pas tilté qu'il y aurait un souci de compréhension. Nous nous sommes retrouvés dans un groupe exclusivement anglophone. La guide ayant eu pris connaissance de la confirmation que ne devions pas nous retrouver dans ce groupe, cela n'a rien changé !! Payer pour pas avoir ce que l'on demandé !

Roberta was a charming, helpful and knowledgeable guide. Nino was a very competent diver and we felt safe driving through the manic traffic in Palermo. Montreal was beautiful and a peaceful place after the bustle of Palermo. No negatives on this trip. Disappointed with the cancellation of our Lipari trip the following day.

uitleg in 2 talen is teveel en duurde te lang. Je verlies veel tijd daarmee. Je zou de keuze moeten hebben om de kathedraal van Monreale op eigen tempo te bezichtigen en daardoor nog tijd over hebben om de kloostergangen te bezichtigen. De tocht in Palermo is interessant maar wel op een snel tempo. Niet veel tijd over om zelf iets te bezoeken of te ontdekken. Wel ideaal om de volgende dag Palermo op eigen tempo te ontdekken.

Firstly TUI administration messed up. We booked this excursion at least two months before our trip organised by TUI to Cefalù. We turned up at the appointed place 10 minutes early. When the coach arrived the guide didn't have anyone booked by TUI on his list. So he was about to leave without the four people who booked through TUI. The guide, Salvatore, was excellent. Very friendly, efficient and a brilliant translator. However, he had to translate everything into French and English, which meant that at any one time, half of the guests were bored ! I believe the trip should have been split into two, one in French and one in English. It would have made Salvatore's job a lot easier and led to a more enjoyable experience for all the guests. Other than that, the trip was perfect !

A little more information regarding the whole trip itinerary would be useful as we were unaware that street food was included . The food was very good but we had to wait approximately an hour for it as the suppliers couldn’t cope with the number of people on our trip so it was rather chaotic. Wrong information about pickup times from tui meant we had to return to Cefalù to pickup more passengers before continuing on to Palermo , the bus also broke down on the return journey.

This was a very full day and we saw all the main important sights with a knowledgable and helpful guide. The group was large I would estimate somewhere between 40 and 45 people. This was awkward on extremely busy streets for the people of Palermo and led to slow progress for us. The radio devices were difficult to use in the noisy environment and in addition the guide had to constantly switch between English and French this made it painful and sometimes impossible to hear.

Die Tour war schön und äußerst interessant. Wir haben viele Empfehlungen und spannende Infos über Palermo und Sizilien erhalten. Die freie Zeit war für mich ausreichend. Ich werde Palermo auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen! Unsere lokale Reiseführerin hat einen ausgezeichneten Job gemacht. Zudem war sie ausgesprochen freundlich und witzig. Eine Tour mit ihr ist sehr empfehlenswert. :)

Roberta our tour guide was the star of the day. She has an infectious sense of humour coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of both history and culture borne very clearly from a love of the area that she has grown up in. Her knowledge and understanding of Palermo in particular was clearly down to her affection for the city and her 4 years living there. Palermo despite a darker history is now a vibrant city and I would have preferred to concentrate the whole trip there. Thank you Roberta

The tour was well paced. We were introduced to some stunning sites. The walking tour including the market was most interesting. Our guide Roberta was very knowledgeable and conveyed a great passion for her home island. Maybe an extra hour in Palermo but we will visit again
