Join a walking tour of the valley surrounding the city of Pigadia, follow the goat paths and olive fields, and discover all the natural beauty that the area offers!Meet your guide in Pigadia and leave the city behind to discover its natural surroundings. Walk past abandoned houses reminding you of the ancient times and stroll through the fields full of flowers in the springtime and high grass during summer. The olive trees will offer you some shade to take a sip of water and the sound of the goat bells will lead the way. Reach a chapel below Menetes, where you'll take a break in the shade and enjoy a fresh cup of locally-made herbal tea. Enter the chapel to see how the locals pray and listen to the fascinating history of this place. Leaving the chapel, you'll head into the sometimes slightly wet river bed. Hundreds of years old olive trees and fossilized shells await you at the end of the walk.

In de eerste plaats de gids. Ze geeft veel informatie over het leven op het land. Ook de rust en ruimte om te pauzeren en foto's te maken was erg prettig. Veel gezien en veel geleerd. Zou geen minpunten kunnen verzinnen.

Erg leuke en prachtige wandeling door de vallei! Je komt op plekjes waar je zelf nooit zou geraken en hoort van de gids leuke en interessante dingen over het eiland en de geschiedenis. Aanrader wat ons betreft!

AANRADER - veel over eiland en de omgeving geleerd - een super vriendelijke gids Renate - ook kopje thee en raki geproeft - alleen vind ik het best prijzig maar het is niet anders tegenwordig

+ Mooie wandeling met info via goede gids. + Prachtige uitzichten over natuur en zee. + Uitleg over aanleg stuwmeer en afvloeiing naar zee. + Bezoek aan kerkje, proeven van saliethee en ouzo. + Bezoek aan grot van Poseidon die fossielen van zeeschelpen en oude graftombes herbergt. - Prijs: 27€ pp is best veel.

I enjoyed the fact that it was an easy walk (hot temperatures) and that we did get the possibility to see something else of the island. So no tourist spots but just the landscape around Pigadia with a guide who lives there for a few years and can tell a lot about the island.
