Embarque numa viagem de manhã cedo para a tranquila ilha de Gorée. Após 2 horas de viagem a partir de Pointe Sarène, chegará ao porto, onde um ferry o espera para o transportar para a ilha. A ilha é um refúgio de paz e tranquilidade, com ruelas estreitas e serenas e casas em tons de ocre vermelho adornadas com buganvílias que lhe conferem um encanto inegável. Reconhecida como Património Mundial da UNESCO, a Ilha de Gorée é uma recordação pungente da história, tendo visto passar milhões de pessoas antes de serem levadas para a América como escravos.A sua visita incluirá um passeio pelas antigas casas de escravos, a igreja de São Carlos e o museu histórico. Terá também a oportunidade de passear pelas ruelas e explorar as oficinas dos pintores locais. Desfrute de um almoço num restaurante encantador da ilha antes de regressar a Dakar no início da tarde.Em Dakar, o coração da reunificação política, económica e cultural da África Ocidental, embarcará num passeio pela cidade. Esta inclui uma visita ao movimentado bairro do "plateau", onde verá marcos importantes como a estação ferroviária, a Câmara Municipal, a Praça da Independência e o Palácio Presidencial. Opgehaald aan het hotel, we waren maar met 4 deelnemers dus zeer aangenaam. Zeer mooi eiland met een rijke geschiedenis. In Dakar rondgereden met enkele tussenstops, zeer goed om het verschil te zien tss arm en rijk. De uitstap was zeker de moeite waard. Het eten 's middags was lekker, maar het krioelde daar vd vliegen. De dag nadien buikloop...

The trip was very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. One thing to point out, we got picked up at 7am and I think got dropped off at 8pm so the day was longer than the information suggested. Some missed the ferry back to the mainland which caused a delay. We also stopped for some passengers who wanted to buy gifts. I think this shouldn’t have been allowed as it caused further delays. Great trip which I enjoyed and would recommend to others.

I thought the drive back to the hotel at the end of the tour was really bad as the bus stopped twice for people on the bus to buy peanuts from the side of the road which to ages my group of friends were not happy either , they did ask the tui guide , but we were already running 1 hour late due to bad organisation getting us to the ferry , the group got split up in half and we had to wait an hour for the other half of the group on the main land , we did not get back until nearly 8pm .

Dakar muss mann nicht machen Ausflug könnte ohne Dakar auch sein - es gibts fast nix zum sehen (verlorene zeit). Statt Dakar konnte mann Ausflug den ganzen tag auf Insel Goree organisieren. Tour guide war super.

Jammer dat de gids de groep aan zijn lot overliet op het meest chaotische moment. Het wachten op de ferry. Regelmatig verdween de gids om even te gaan praten met de lokale bevolking. Er was dus geen groepsmanagment van de gids. Ze heeft ook 5 maal dezelfde uitleg gzgeven. De uitleg in de bus is idem aan de uitleg ter plaatse.

There was a lot packed in which was good and bad. It was great to visit so many places but not enough time at each. The trip was worth the journey time from pointe sarene and lunch was well cooked and served. We didn't have time for Dakar market but it didn't spoil the day. Our guide was very informative and friendly with a sense of humour, keeping us entertained. This trip was an absolute must for our stay in Senegal; we would consider coming again and spending more time on Goree Island.

The experience was cancelled the day before with no explanation , we had to reschedule for Friday or Saturday which we did. We were the only English on the trip everyone else was French. All the commentary was in French so we did not understand any of it. We were allocated an English speaking guide who was very good but he could only point out places of interest as he was not in charge of the microphone

We enjoyed this trip so much. You cannot miss this off your list when visiting Senegal. I would have given this 10/10 overall, but my 9 is due to the fact we were told to bring our swimsuits. So, I dragged two towels, swimsuits and flip flops around Goree Island for nothing. It was very hot. STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO TAKE SWIMSUITS! There is just the right amount of time for visiting the Island and have lunch. Our guide Lamin was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and great command of English.

The day was well organised and had a good itinerary. The coach wasn't that comfortable (no leg room) but water was frequently offered and appreciated. The guide spoke good English and was inclusive and informative. I appreciated the stop at Dakar market, however this was very, very rushed. I just about had time to buy one piece of fabric. Overall though an excellent day out and highly recommended.

Really enjoyable day and learnt lots. Great cultural experience. Length of day was good. Guide was excellent. Would have preferred a little more time in the market in Dakar to have bought something.

Erg lange dag, zeker met de lange reistijd ernaartoe. Moesten daarnaast ook veel wachten onder andere anderhalf uur op de boot bij de heenweg. Verdeling van de groepen ook niet logisch: er zaten Engelse en Duitse bij elkaar, waardoor de gids zijn verhaal telkens 2 keer moest doen

It is a long day, it was very hot. The microphones in the bus had some feedback so made it difficult to hear some of the commentary at the back of the bus. The tour of Dakar was interesting as was the island. Lunch was delicious. Would have liked more time in the slave house, which was moving and atmospheric despite being very crowded but there is a lot to pack in when such long distances are involved on busy roads.

No information provided prior to the trip about the detail. No free time to experience the city and island - herded around a bit. One of the 2 guides shouted all day and was distorted on the microphone making it impossible to hear - we told him this but he still did it :/ The place is amazing so would recommend the visit but you need to tailor the tour a bit better to allow free time in Goree and to see the Dakar embassies, station and market not just from the bus window!

Ein Guide der auch deutsch spricht wäre nicht verkehrt ?? hatte Probleme mit den Treppen beim runter laufen. Hier wäre eine Info für ältere oder gehbehinderte Menschen hilfreich. Fleyer nicht nur französisch und englisch sondern auch in deutsch

Very interesting and thought-provoking. Slavery was truly horrendous. A very pretty island with lovely views and interesting buildings. A trip worth doing. Not a trip for anyone with restricted mobility. Getting on and off the ferry would be impossible and there is a lot of walking over uneven ground with steep steps up to the highest point. A very good lunch was included

Es war zu wenig Zeit auf der Insel. Wir konnten das Museum nicht in Ruhe ansehen. Daher war der Ausflug , für das geboten wurde, leider zu teuer. Das Essen war sehr ??. Es war für mich sehr emotional, die ganze Geschichte der Sklaven dort, zu hören. Aber auch sehr informativ. Wir hatten sehr nette guides

Gut organisiert, interessanter Ausflug, Guide hat auf englisch und deutsch erklärt. Im Sklavenhaus war es viel zu voll. Die Händler sind zum Teil zu aufdringlich. Die Touris würden eher was kaufen wenn sie in Ruhe schauen könnten, ohne bedrängt zu werden.

Moins apprécié : à l'aller nous avons du nous arreter avec le bus et patienter 50 minutes à proximité d'un rond point pour attendre des vacanciers du Royal horizon Baobab !!!! Il faudrait peut être coordonner les heures de départ des navettes afin d'éviter ce genre de désagrément. Ce sont les accompateurs qui ont subi la mauvaise humeur des vacanciers. Apparemment ce problème est récurrent.

pick up time was different for online bookers compared to people who booked in resort . Was given the option of booking certain day for guide in English on trip was a mixture of French, and Belgium not a problem until we got to Gorée where was told to wait in temperatures of 35.c outside to have the tour in English we just decided to explore it alone as it was so unbearably hot to wait would I recommend the trip yes But not with tui unfortunately
