Each one of the Dodecanese Islands offers a distinctly different experience – and Symi is one of the most culturally rich of them all. You'll discover its laidback charm and visit sites such as Panormitis Monastery and a sponge maker. Fotini, one of our local guides, says, ‘Symi is one of the smallest and most picturesque Greek islands. The sight of the colourful houses as soon as you enter the harbour never fails to impress.'The fun starts with a glide across the Aegean to Symi. The first stop is in the southwest of the island, at the vast, Venetian-style Panormitis Monastery. It is famed for its Byzantine frescoes and icon of St Michael, but most of all for its location right on the water's edge in a remote and sheltered bay. You'll also have free time to explore the site.Next, you'll sail for Symi town itself. The arrival into the harbour is a joy to behold – tiers of pastel-coloured houses cascade down the surrounding hillsides. There's a guided tour of Symi town, too. And during the sponge maker visit, you'll learn about the island's sponge-diving heritage and its importance to the eco system surrounding the Symi. Your visit also helps support this traditional industry, vital to the local community. You'll get a small gift to take home, too. It's Fotini's favourite part of the experience. She says, ‘The old tradition of sponge diving has strongly affected the history and the customs of the Dodecanese Islands.' What is the itinerary for this experience? The itinerary for this experience is...- 7:30am to 8:30am – pick-up from your hotel- 8:55am – departure from Mandraki Harbor- 10:25am to 11:30am – arrive in Panormitis for a monastery visit and free time- 11:30am – leave Panormitis- 12:00pm – photo stop in St. George Bay- 12:25pm to 4:00pm – arrive in Symi for a guided tour, visit to a sponge workshop, lunch (not included) and free time- 4:00pm – leave Symi- 5:35pm to 5:45pm – arrive back at Mandraki Harbor Please note, the times and schedule may vary on the day and depending on boat operations, sometimes you may visit Panormitis before Symi.

We spent nearly 5 hrs on the boat that day. Our rep said trip was 1 and half hrs each way. It was 2 the another hr getting round the island to monastery. Not enough time on the island. Too short for such a long boat trip. Very disappointing. If I had known I would not have booked.. limited seats on the boat so that was not good either.

Excellent trip. Timings were all as described. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Symi was beautiful and well worth visiting. Would highly recommend. We could have taken this trip cheaper with a different operator but went with Tui for the convenience and security.

Der Bus hatte 25 Minuten Verspätung. Sehr langer Aufenthalt (ca. 5 Stunden) auf Fähre. Auf der Fähre ist es eng, der Motor ist sehr laut und es riecht nach Abgasen.

Sur 10h30 d’excursion, nous sommes restés 3 heures dans la capitale de l’île (très jolie) et 1 heure au Monastère. Il faut naviguer longtemps dans un bateau pas vraiment prévu pour une croisière. La visite du monastère présente de l’intérêt mais il n’y a pas grand chose à voir et énormément de monde. Elle devrait être optionnelle, nous serions restés volontiers plus longtemps dans le petit port de la capitale.

Nie otrzymałem informacji przed zakupem wycieczki ze, będzie w języku angielskim. Nie otrzymałem informacji że, plaża tam to jakaś mikro plaża na której nie było miejsca pomijając że, miałem wziąć wygodne buty o stroju do kąpieli nie było mowy. Miała być z przewodnikiem a wyszło że, większość ludzi siedziała w restauracjach przez 5 godzin bo nie ma co robić na tej wyspie. Nic się nie dowiedziałem i to była na pewno ostatnia wycieczka z TUI .

Symi moet je gezien hebben. Is heel mooi. Gids nam uitgebreid de tijd alles mooi uit te leggen en er was voldoende tijd om dorpje zelf nog te verkennen. Het klooster is ook mooi, maar we vonden het wel ver varen voor die 45 min die je aan wal bent. Enige nadeel was dat we in totaal 5u op een boot moesten zitten om dit alles te kunnen bewonderen.

Le bateau n'était pas adapté. Pour ceux qui ne pouvaient pas aller en haut l'arrière était peut-être confortable mais beaucoup d'odeurs de gazoil, intérieur inconfortable et ensemble très bruyant. Sinin 4h3 de bateau pour voir un tres joli village et un aperçu de monastère c'est bcq de trajet +1h3 de bus. J'ai le dos cassé. Très très déçu. On nous a vendu du rêve mais???

Die Reiseleitung hat gepasst, Pünktlichkeit stimmte. Das Boot ist renovierungsbedürftig.(4Stunden Fahrt). Der Stopp am Kloster musste ziemlich zügig gehen. Die 40 minütige Fahrt deswegen empfanden wie zu viel. Obwohl das Kloster sehr schön ist und einzigartig am Meer.

Symi ist wunderschön, ist eine sehr schöne kleine Insel mit bunten Häusern. Ist leider sehr überlaufen. Die Fahrt mit dem Schiff war lange und sehr anstrengend, wir fahren 5 Stunden auf dem Schiff und nur 3 Stunden am Land. Aber so an sich war es sehr schön.

De uitstap is interessant maar de boottocht duurt veel te lang. Daarom is mijn vraag of het waard is om al die tijd (+/-5 é 6 uren) te verspillen door niets te doen op het schip. Om uiteindelijk een bezoek in twee delen, eerste deel ben je uitgekeken op 30 min en het tweede deel een rond wandeling met gids (voldoende info) (+/- 1 uur) en dan vrijheid om te schoppen en te eten. Ook nog een 2 x30 min rit met de bus geen en terug. Ik zou het niet meer doen!

Die Schiffsfahrt ist aufgrund des geringen Schatten an Bord eine Katastrophe. Wenn man eins schattenplatz im unteren Teils des Schiffes ergattert fallen einem die Ohren ab Dal laut ist das Indie Jahre gekommene Schiff. Bis auf die Schiffsfahrt war es ein schöner Ausflug. Steffen der Guide hat es toll gemacht.

Spent the full day travelling. Didn't get much free time in symi. The tour guide was lovely. Tui rep recommeded a restaurant, if we quoted tui would get a discount and we didn't. The restaurant was called Taverna Narsida. The staff was very rude and the meal was awful.

Wycieczka powinna nazywać się rejs po morzu egejskim. Ogólnie 5 godzin na statku przepełnionym , do tego doliczyć dojazd autobusem i oczekiwania. Sama atrakcja warta zobaczenia ale więcej info można poczytać na Internecie. Przewodnik najwięcej skupiał się na danych statystykach z nurkowania i zachęcał do korzystania z lunchu w konkretnej restauracji. Powrót był że żenujący, oczekiwanie na konkretny autokar , a po przyjeździe kierowca nie wiedział do jakich hoteli ma rozwozić turystów.

St. George bay fotomoment: niets van gezien, Klooster: viel tegen wat ons 4en betreft, Headset: veel mensen zag ik het apparaat aan hun oor vasthouden omdat het niet bleef zitten, zelf had ik er ook last van en heb hem dus bijna niet gebruikt.

Båten var slitt og veldig mange passasjerer. Vanskelig å få plass på dekk ute. Burde vært lunsj inkludert. Øre telefon var ikke bra med mye bakgrunnsstøy. Symi var nydelig men besøk på kloster var katastrofe. Vi ble stående i klosteret bak en annen gruppe og kom oss ikke ut før de var ferdig med sin guide og kysse bilde av relieffet. Bra med tid på Symi. Skulle ønske det var et bade stopp.

The monastery visit although in a beautiful setting was hardly worth the extra journey as there is very little to see inside and it was very crowded Maybe offer a visit to Symi only and then it would be a much shorter trip

Enttäuschend und das Geld nicht wert Ich habe noch nie eine so schlechte Tour gebucht. Für 69 € pro Person ist dieser Ausflug eine absolute Frechheit. Auch meine vier Mitreisenden teilten diese Meinung, und an den Gesichtern vieler anderer Gäste konnte man ebenfalls erkennen, wie enttäuscht sie waren. Gebucht hatten wir einen Tagesausflug auf die Insel Symi inklusive Abholung in Hotelnähe und Bootsfahrt. Die noch freien Zeichen reichen für meine Nachricht nicht aus!!!

Abholung anderes Hotel , 1/2 Kilometer entfernt ( so nicht am PC bei Buchungen ersichtlich ),, dann 20 min Fahrt durch den Ort, nur um am eigenen Hotel direkt vorbeizufahren .... aber abgeholt konnte man da wie bei der Buchungsauswahl nicht werden ????? 7 !!!!! Stunden des Ausflugs sind nur Transfer !!!!!!

Balade en bateau agréable mais beaucoup trop long avec une embarcation équipée seulement de la moitié des voiles d'ombrage. Pas assez de temps libre. Guide très professionnelle, qui connait parfaitement sont sujet notamment sur l'histoire de l'île. Dommage que les transferts soient si longs.

Gruppe wurde nie abgezählt bzw nach den Namen gefragt, ausser der Buschaffeur bei der Abholung. Sender zur Reiseleitung hat nicht funktioniert und konnte nicht ausgetauscht weil kein Ersatzgerät vorhanden. Wieso buche ich dann eine Führung?! Sehr gut war der Stopp beim Schwammhändler... im Schatten, die Gruppe gemeinsam. Sehr lange Bootsfahrt, ohne zu wissen, wo die Schwimmwesten sind.
