This action-packed day brings the essence of Crete to life for all the family. Discover Greek mythology as you explore scenic mountain trails on an off-road adventure leading to the Lassithi plateau. There's a chance to have a go at making ceramics and a visit to the Mythological Park, too. Katerina, one of our expert local guides, enthusiastically says, ‘Lassithi Plateau is a personal favourite on this tour. You'll be greeted by the sight of dozens of windmills that dot the landscape. They were built in the 19th century to grind grain, and are now a symbol of the region.'Kick off on a trail which climbs into the mountains to reach the first stop at the Aposelimi Dam. From here we'll make our way to a viewpoint where we can see across the Lassithi plateau, a high, fertile plain that legend states was the birthplace of Zeus.Rumbling down to the plateau, we'll head to a ceramics workshop and olive oil producer. It's a fun stop for the kids who will have plenty of time to have a go at making their own pottery creations. Next up is the Mythological park, where you'll find out all about ancient Greek myths - the special lighting and sound effects alongside the audio tour make the park enjoyable for all ages. Round off the day with a late lunch in a taverna, before calling in at the village of Krassi, which is famous for a 2,000-year old plane tree and has a natural spring water source.

+ die Hochebene ist schön + der Guide hat sich bemüht einen mit Infos zu versorgen - sein Deutsch warmittelmäßig - ich verstehe nicht wie diese Tour für vier Personen 300 € kosten kann. Man wird kurz durch die Gegend gefahren, isst am Rand einer Hauptstraße nichts besonderes und hat den geringen Eintritt für den Park inklusive. Da mietet man besser ein Auto selbst. - Töpfern war möglichst schnell beendet - Fürs Shoppen war natürlich viel zu viel Zeit - Zeus Höhle gesperrt, trotzdem kein Rabatt

Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable, friendly and looked after us throughout the entirety of the trip. Frequent stops were made to appreciate and photograph the incredible scenery. The mythological park was entertaining and informative. We really enjoyed the trip to the olive oil makers, and lunch at the taverna was an incredibly special experience.

Trip erg leuk, geen kinderzitje in auto dus veiligheid voor kinderen is minder. Stops erg mooi qua uitzicht, uitleg van gids michaelis B. erg leuk! Redelijk opdringerige verkoop op de locaties waar je stopt, bij de proeverij krijg je raki, olijfolie en honing te proeven welke erg lekker zijn (maar wel graag kopen!) bij de keramiek workshop ben je in 5 minuten klaar met kleien, verder bijna een uur verkopers van je af zien te houden… eten in de taverna erg lekker!

This trip was guided by local driver Stavros who was excellent at engaging and entertaining my 7 year old for the duration - they were best pals by the end - and had lots of local knowledge, and “survival tips” for the mountains. The visit to the Olive Factory, drive up the mountains, farm visit and local Cretan lunch were all fun and informative. The Mythological Park really peaked the interest of my son and is definitely worth a visit. We would definitely do this tour again.

Der Ausflug war rundum wirklich gut. Unser Guide Anastasios verstand es, mit viel Humor, alle Gäste informativ und gut zu unterhalten. Wir haben zwar nicht den Mythologischen Park besucht, weil die anderen Gäste eine andere Variante des Jeep-Ausflugs gebucht hatten, aber das kam uns ehrlich gesagt ganz recht. Alternativ haben wir uns die Olivenöl-Herstellung angeschaut inkl. Verkostung. Das Mittagessen typisch griechisch war lecker und in idyllischer Umgebung richtig gemütlich.

Our tour guide Niko made this a very enjoyable trip. He had lots of experience of driving up these mountains. The mythological park was very interesting. We then had a super lunch at a taverna in a village down the mountain. So much delicious food and wine.

Dmitri from Tui was amazing in recommending this trip which was our favourite of the holiday even though all our trips were fantastic. This was amazing. Chris our guide and driver from Safari club 4x4 was so knowledgeable and experienced and great to be in Socrates Land Rover and meet Maria the goat and taste feta cheese and see how it’s made and go visit traditional Cretan villages in the mountains. Do not miss this trip!

Such a great day. Definitely the best family friendly option of the safari tours. Son is a big Greek mythology buff, loved the mythological park. Off-roading in the 4x4 was lots of fun and got to see a lot of Crete including plateau. They enjoyed the pottery making and the adults enjoyed the olive oil, wine tasting and meze lunch. Very well planned day for young children (5&8). The driver was fantastic, Mike was excellent with the children and made it all the more entertaining. Would recommend

Es war ein schöner Tag, das Wetter, die ausgewählten Orte, das lecker Mittagessen all das macht macht die Sache rund . Ein bisschen Zeitdruck ist das einzige was ich beanstanden kann. Route gut, Guide sehr gut , er hat uns super informiert , auch über Kreta im allgemeinen konnte man viel von ihm erfahren und locker ,spaßig und sehr nett war er auch noch . Ich würde die Tourweiter empfehlen. .

Es war nicht der Ausflug den wir gebucht hatten. Hatten dann eine Alternative Safari in die Berge, zu einer Olivenfarm, einen Bergbauer der Käse herstellt und dann zum Mittag. War eine schöne Ausfahrt. Deutscher Guide Thomas war super. Auch die Zielpunkte waren interessant und unterhaltsam. Das Essen in der Taverne war super lecker. Einziges Manko: das der gebuchte Ausflug in dieser Form nicht statt findet, wäre in einer Mail gut gewesen an uns besser gewesen.

Die Tour insgesamt war sehr schön. Man hat einige Eindrücke von der schönen Natur und Kultur Kretas bekommen. Für 3 Hauptereignisse „Mythologischer Park“, „Mittagessen“ und „Keramik-Werkstatt“ ist es allerdings zu teuer. Der Rest war nur Autofahrt und 20 Minuten zum Shoppen in den Souvenirshops sind aufgrund einer eher touristenorientierten Probieraktion von Olivenöl und Wein viel zu kurz. Für Personen, denen es beim Autofahren schlecht wird, ist die Tour nicht zu empfehlen (Off-Road!)

This was a great trip. We had a group of 6 from 9 years to 68 years and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Vasili, our guide, was a legend. He was extremely knowledgeable (even off topic about the 2nd world war) and went out of his way to make sure we has a great time. My 9 year old daughter loved the pottery making, the lunch was really enjoyable and the Mythological Park was interesting for all.

Was een leuke tour, de gids sprak redelijk nederlands dat was een fijne verrassing. Veel interessante feiten geleerd over creta en de cultuur. Minder fijn was dat er door de tui rep een verkeerde tour was geboekt, de gids heeft dit proberen op te lossen door een andere optie aan te bieden. (Niet aangenomen) uiteindelijk vergoeding van de tui rep toegewezen gekregen.

Our guide Vasilis was fantastic, on time, entertaining, knowledgeable and an altogether nice guy. The tour was very interesting and it was great seeing parts of Crete that we would have never otherwise known about. We stopped at a restaurant in the middle of the mountains for a typical Greek lunch which was delicious. The small villages and towns dotted around are so quaint and pretty and with it so much history from times past I would definitely recommend this tour for the family

This trip was made great by the tour guide Billy, so knowledgeable and funny. We had a great ride in the jeep our 7 and 3 year old had a great time. Lots to see on the journey, couple good shops to look in. The park itself was good, lots of things to listen to on your little speaker they give you.

Die Tour ist für Kinder ausgelegt und meinen hat sie sehr gefallen. Der mythologische Park ist aber eher für ältere Kinder was, die das Thema schon in der Schule haben. Sonst ist es eher schwer verständlich für sie. Das Töpfern macht viel Spaß und ein tolles Erlebnis für die Kinder. Es könnten noch mehr Offroadstecken dabei sein ;) Unser Guide konnte super deutsch und war einfach liebenswürdig.

Das,was wir sahen,war gut.Das versunkene Dorf haben wir nur aus einer Entfernung gesehen,waren nicht beim Aquädukt,im kretischen Dorf,beim Hirten&beim Baum.Nach einer Beschwerde wurde uns mitgeteilt,dass der Anbieter die Route manchmal ändert,damit jeder Jeep eine eigene Route fährt,um zu vermeiden,dass zu viele Jeeps gleichzeitig am selben Halt ankommen(nicht in der Beschreibung).Nett gedacht,aber wir bekamen keine Alternative.Wir bekamen nun 20%erstattet und 10%auf ein künftiges Erlebnis...
