With long stretches of unspoilt beach and a rich cultural heritage – Sal has all the ingredients for a perfect day trip. This tour packs in the best sights, including Buracona lagoon and Pedra de Lume salt flats. To top it off, there's a traditional Cape Verdean lunch, and you'll get a glimpse of laidback, local life in Espargos and Palmeira. Rodrigo, one of our local guides, says, ‘Pedra de Lume is in the middle of a volcanic crater, and you reach it via a tunnel. You can sometimes pick up compressed salt crystals the size of a golf ball, while at other times the salt is so hard that you walk on the pans.'The fun kicks off with a visit to Espargos. You'll explore the island's colourful capital and admire its fascinating street art, before heading to an observatory point for elevated views over the town. Next, it's on to the Buracona lagoon, famed for an optical illusion known as the ‘blue eye' caused by the sunlight. The journey continues at the laidback fishing village of Palmeira. Relax in a café while your guide reveals stories about the village's past.You're in for a treat next, as there's a table waiting for us at a family-run restaurant which serves a special Cape Verdean lobster dish. There are other tasty options, too. After fuelling up on local cuisine, we'll head to the Dead Sea-like waters of Pedra de Lume. Lie back and float on one of the world's saltiest lagoons, before stopping by at Viveiros Botanical Garden to discover exotic vegetation and a petting zoo. I was impressed with the overall trip. Our guide, Lucy, was very good - knowledgeable, entertaining, and just wonderful. The lunch was delicious, and the places we visited interesting. Obviously, the others on the trip made it all a wonderful experience too.

Our guide Luccy was totally bonkers! I don't think I stopped laughing all day. Luccy was also knowledgeable about Sal, and was enthusiastic about passing this knowledge on to us. I would recommend this tour to everyone, and the lobster lunch was definitely worth the extra!

Man hat sich von den einzelnen Destinationen mehr versprochen als gezeigt wurde. Der Salzsee war sehr spartanisch gehalten keine Richtigen Duschen 30 Sekunden für einen Euro ist abzocken. Das Essen war eine glatte 7 der Hummer war so zäh und zu trocken. Mit etwas Zitrone wäre er besser gewesen. Insgesamt eine schöne Tour aber ausbaufähig für den Preis

The overall experience was wonderful, and Ronaldo the guide was terrific, the lunch however was a little bit lacking it would not have been something I would have chosen it was a bit like being back at school, the rest of the trip was wonderful.

It was a good tour but the time distribution and allocation to the different places and activities in our opinion should be better fine tuned.We both felt that the lunch was very much rushed.To the point that my wife had not finished her main that the dessert was started to be served at the table. every one had commented that the service was too fast like they wanted us out asap. Also the timing given at the salinas seemed not enough.cape verde no stress” just allow more time next time ,to relax

Den Preis empfinden wir als nicht angemessen um nicht zu sagen zu hoch. Das Essen ist Inklusive aber der Lobster kostet allein 20€ mehr? Der Aussichtspunkt kostet allein 5€ das Essen dazu, etwas im Salz baden für 120€? Der Guide hat durch seine Kenntnisse einiges raus gerissen aber das wiegt nicht den Preis auf

Negative: Die Absturzgefahr beim Blue Eye war überraschend hoch, da es keine vernünftige Absperrung gibt. Positive: -Sehr guter Service, viele Getränke, gutes und reichhaltiges Essen waren inklusive. - Unser Guide Lissy/Easy war sehr nett, hat uns viele Informationen gegeben und uns insgesamt einen schönen Ausflug bescherrt.

The experience was informative about the island, and the guide was excellent in her delivery of the information, she clearly knew her stuff! I felt that we could have stayed a little longer in the salt lake, but other than that, the trip was well paced and relaxed. Would (and have) recommended this trip to others.

- Prijs van excursie was dubbel zo duur als wat medereizigers hebben betaald! - Kaviaarlunch was absoluut geen 20 euro extra waard - enkel middenstuk werd opgediend - dus bijv. geen scharen waar het meeste vlees is te vinden!! - Uitleg TUI hostes was (later gezien) enkel bedoeld om te reserveren: . echtgenote wel niet meegegaan (ingedeukte wervel-geen schokken) - zou geen probleem zijn met bus (offroad trip naar Buracona!!!) . niet wat er beloofd werd: bijv. geen panoramisch zicht Espargus ....

Really good little train service down and back up at the salt lake, for €2 well worth it for people with less mobility. That was not an option when I came in February 2026. Guide was very good and knowledgeable and we had an excellent driver.

Gut hat uns gefallen, dass die Tour von einer Einheimischen geführt wurde und das Zeitmanagement. Nicht gut war, dass das vegetarische Essen Speck im Couscous enthielt und das grundsätzliche Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Empfindung ist etwas überteuert für das Gesehene. Von der Reihenfolge wären die Salzsalinen zum Schluss wesentlich, wegen des getrocknetes Salzes auf der Haut, angenehmer als vor dem Botanischen Garten.

Toni was amazing and an incredible tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and really keen to share the island’s culture and history with us. We loved the experience and saw so many things! The minibus didn’t have seatbelts so that would maybe be something to improve. Would also appreciate a cheaper alcohol-free ticket option as there were quite a few drinks included, but we felt the tickets were expensive and we would have appreciated one at a lower price with drinks an optional add-on.

Wir hatten eine ganz tolle Dame die uns sehr viel erzählt hat und es war alles sehr locker gehalten und natürlich immer No Stress. Zudem hatten wir auch insgesamt eine tolle Gruppe. Wir haben wirklich viel gesehen und es hat echt Spaß gemacht. Das Mittagessen war auch sehr lecker. Alles in allem wurde ich jedem diese Tour empfehlen.

Sehr positiv beeindruckt hat mich der gut deutschsprachige capverdische Reiseleiter. Sein beeindruckendes Wissen hat er auf genialer Art sehr unterhaltsam und mit viel Spaß vermittelt. Es gab immer ausreichend Zeit für die anstehenden Sehenswürdigkeiten, die immer sehr ausführlich erklärt wurden. Das Restaurant zum Mittagessen mit Meerblick war gut gewählt und das Essen sehr lecker. Preis/Leistung mit 119€ pro Person (Standardmittagessen ohne Languste) für afrikanische Verhältnisse schon viel.

Hat alles super geklappt. Der Guide war super lieb und hat sehr sehr viel gewusst. Man konnte ihn auch gut verstehen. Er hat erzählt dass er sich die Sprache selbst beigebracht hat. Es war alles in allem das Geld aufjedenfall wert, würden wir auch wieder so machen.

Our tour guide Lucy was amazing considering it was her first time in the role as tour guide. She was very informative about the locations she took us to. I really enjoyed the day including the lunch that was supplied in the tour. Great value for money.

Wirkliche Highlights gab auf dieser Tour leider nicht, das blaue Auge fand ich unspektakulär und die Fatamorgana war kaum zu erkennen. Positiv war, das schöne Wetter und unser Guide der Ronny war ein herzlicher Typ und hat wirklich einen guten Job gemacht. 119 Euro für diese Tour waren nicht angemessen, eher vielleicht 60 bis 80 Euro. Ein Trost für mich ist, dass ein Teil des Geldes in einen sozialen Fond fließt.

The guide was very knowledgable and during the day we saw a lot of the island. The mirage was very good and we managed to get some good photos on our phones. The blue eye was interesting the guide took the photos for me. The salt lake was good. It’ quite a walk down we rode. It makes your skin feel good after you wash it off, but it stings if you have sun burn. We went to the gardens after so my skin was stinging for a long time which made it difficult to relax and look at the animals.
