Fijnproevers opgelet: op deze treintour verken je drie uur lang het schilderachtige landschap en de beroemde smaken van Sorrento. De blauw-witte retro tram vertrekt vanaf de heuveltop van Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi waar je proeverijtour begint.De eerste halte is bij het Deserto klooster. Dit gebouw dateert uit 1769 en biedt de benedictijnse nonnen die er wonen, en jou, een hemels uitzicht op de golven van Salerno en Napels. En op de Vesuvius. De volgende stop is Orto Ghezi, waar je de rijkdommen van een mediterrane moestuin ontdekt. Je proeft hier honing en ‘limoncello'-appeljam.Tijdens je panoramische trein-tour maak je kennis met allerlei lekkernijen, zoals lokale wijnen, verse olijfolie, tomaten, olijven en brood. Ook is er een workshop om verse citroenen te verwerken tot limoncello – en je proeft natuurlijk wat van het eindresultaat. Daarnaast krijg je een demonstratie mozzarella maken, waarbij je de verse kaas proeft.

The tour guide Francisco was helpful, friendly, enthusiastic and informative of history and where we were etc. Transport to and from the excursion was good and it was great to see the production of local produce. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Guide very friendly and funny, train quite bumpy and hard to get in and out off if you have mobility issues but I managed it and had a lovely time, the food and wine tasting was excellent, demonstrating of cheese making was excellent

This was fun and guide was very informative but sometimes hard to understand due to his strong accent and traffic noise. When we visited the limoncello factory, I thought we would get a tour but we were jyst in a room listening how it is made. I thought we would have seen more. Overall we enjoyed as it was something different. The Monastry grounds were beautiful and the views from the tower were amazing. Would have liked to see inside the monastery but unfortunately it was closed.

I found this tour good fun especially the visit to the wine/cheese tasting who grew all their own produce.was good for me as i have limited mobility at the moment.would suite older guest or people who like a bit of fun.

The train driver Francisco was fantastic as was the train itself. Francisco was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun and informative. The visit to Il Deserto was great with amazing views. The highlight was visiting Orto Ghezi. The owner and his staff were all so enthusiastic about all the produce they grow and make. To watch mozzarella being made then tasting all the products was great. The Limoncello Factory was disappointing, didn't get to see it being made just had a couple of shots!

The venues visited were very interesting. The farm was charming and the food tastings great. The train was full to capacity with little room to move and the seats and seat backs were a little uncomfortable particularly on bumpy roads. That said, we would not be put off this activity by

The train is great fun and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. One point, if you are very tall or larger than life then remember there isn’t a great deal of legroom. Also the seats are hard and will give you a numb rear end. Overall though it was worth the money.

The trip was good fun and we loved the little train. We saw some beautiful scenery. The view fron the top of the 80 steps was spectacular. The guide was very knowledgable, but he spoke a little too fast, and I think most of us were struggling to grasp what he was saying. The 2 stops along the way were really good, and the hosts were friendly, and very generous with their products. We bought something from both stops. Definately a trip to go on.

Great little trip if you want to do something that isn't a full day out. Beautiful scenery and a chance to see a different side of Sorrento and the surrounding area. I can definately recommend purchasing some produce from the farm visit. Excellent wine and lemon olive oil. The train driver was great as well. An entertaining morning out.

The trip was very good , however we were picked up from the Grand Hotel President by car but due to there being already 4 passenger's in the car we had to sit in two very small seats in the boot !!!!!. we are only 5' 4 inches and 5' 5 inches , if we had been taller we would not have fit in the car. Anyone taller would not have got in and the driver found it funny. We didnt find it funny, our knees were up to our chest and this was not safe . I actually think we need a refund !

This trip is absolutely fantastic, train driver was great and he waited for an elderly lady who got lost on her way to the pick up point. Mozzarella-making demonstration was wonderful And what a lovely family. Limoncello-making workshop was interesting and a beautiful trip up the hills to see the beautiful views.

We both enjoyed this tour- it was great to travel locally in the peninsula around the hotel and learn about the local traditions of mozzarella and limoncello making. The views from the monastery were fabulous and it was beautifully peaceful. The guides were fantastic and overall this was a fun trip and a great way to spend a morning. Thank you to Francesco our driver and guide.

The trip was very well organised, couldn’t fault it! Picked us up from our hotel and taken back there after. Our very nice driver was waiting for us, when we arrived back on the train at the end of our trip. My husband and I enjoyed all the elements of the trip. I would definitely recommend. Maybe just a little bit overpriced.

The mozzarella making demo and tasting was good (although we didn't get to sample any olives as advertised). The limoncello factory did not include a "hands on workshop" as advertised so that was a bit disappointing. At £65 I'm afraid it was not good value for money.

Train had broken down so we were picked up from hotel in a mini bus taken to the train which had broken down A little confusion then as we were asked to cross the road in order to take public transport back Thankfully things were resolved and the mini bus took us back to the hotel

The whole experience was fantastic made extra exciting by our wonderful guide . He was so enthusiastic, entertaining, informative and unhurried . The only improvement would be to ask him to speak a little slower as it was sometimes difficult to understand what he was saying. The market garden was very welcoming and informative. The limoncello factory seemed a little more rushed by the speaker there but non the less enjoyable.

This was a really different experience. It was lovely seeing smiles on people's faces as we tootled along in the train and people waving at us I felt like a child - in a good way. The guide was lovely. Couldn't always understand him but he tried his best. The transfers to the train were fine - just the usual heavy Sorrento traffic,- but fine when on the train up in the hills.

This trip is excellent. The trip through the small towns in the train ( it’s a look a like train that travels on the road)was so much fun. The farm was great, it’s a small holding you see with a demonstration of how they make mozzarella and then they show you the range of products they have, lastly a tasting of the different types of olive oils on a bread with chopped tomatoes and mozzarella ( my wife is GF and they had an alternative bread) . There was also different wines they make to taste.

Really enjoyed the first half of the tour, especially the tour of the farm and the food tasting and the cheese making demonstration. The liquor factory was okay, but very brief, and then after that it seemed to be a long journey back, I think the second half of the tour could be shortened. The tour guide was great but spoke extremely fast.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this, it is certainly a unique way of sightseeing the local area. Our guide/driver was very interesting and informative and pointed out all the better views for photographing. I enjoyed all three stops en route but especially the limoncello tasting -just wish it had taken place in an actual lemon grove rather than indoors.

Though the tour guide was lovely, he spoke too quickly & not very clear. The Food tasting at the farm was excellent! Highly recommend. However, the monastery tour was basically walking up some steps and back down again - no tour which was disappointing. The trip overall was good and plenty of opportunities for photos / stop offs.

We had a wonderful time. From being picked up to dropped off, it was interesting and a lot of fun. Everyone joined in with the fun atmosphere and our host Francesco was brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed the stops along the way.

We absolute loved this trip from beginning to end! The little train was amazing! Took us to little villages that we never would have seen! Views from the monastery were amazing! The local veg farm was both humorous and informative! Our host there had an excellent sense of humour and the mozzarella lady also joined in the fun whilst showing us how the cheese was made! Local delicacies were the perfect lunch! Lemoncello tasty was also an excellent experience! A shout must go to the train driver!!!
