Wat te verwachten

The Ouzoud Falls are one of the top sights in Morocco and easily visited from Marrakech. You'll head into the Middle Atlas Mountains to see North Africa's highest waterfalls as well as a natural travertine bridge. Hamza, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘I've been guiding this excursion for many years, but I still love seeing the falls. They drop 110m down craggy red cliffs, and there are various places to view the cascading water, from above and below. Ouzoud means “olive” in the Berber language, and the falls are named after the ancient olive trees that thrive around this valley.'You'll cross palm groves, pass by typical Berber villages and weave through mountain passes en route to Ouzoud. Reaching the falls, you'll have plenty of time to take photos and marvel at the succession of tiered cascades. There's a permanent rainbow created by the mist thrown up from the natural power of the water, which is at peak flow during the spring.Your guide will point out the best viewpoints, and with luck you might even spot the Barbary apes that call this dazzling place home. Hamza says, ‘Many people think of Morocco as arid. Yet the Ouzoud Falls and the green surroundings bring a sense of vitality and life-force to the landscape.' After your visit, it's time to relax over a meal in a Berber restaurant where you'll tuck into a freshly-prepared local lunch including a typical dish of the region. And there's a photo stop at the nearby Imi-n-Ifri natural bridge on the way back to Marrakech.

Excellent

The waterfall itself were lovely to see it is definitely a HIKE not a walk the transport was a bit lacking. Very poor food choice for somebody who is gluten free.

Great

De airco in de bus was niet goed. Het was veel te warm waardoor je zelf niet lekker voelde. De rest was gewoon heel goed.

Poor

At no point were we informed about the distance to the waterfalls, we were misinformed about the return time. The lunch was not pleasant with the only option of meat or veggie. The whole day was 12hours because the coach went through the centre of Marrakesh to drop off the guide before take us back to our hotel which resulted in us missing our airport transfer by minutes and costing me the price of a taxi and causing stress and anxiety for me and my daughter. This ruined the whole experience!!!!

Great

Our guide was very knowledgeable, giving information in different languages and the waterfall was amazing. The food was delicious too and stopping off the gorge was a really interesting stop at the end of the day. Pre warning about the people giving you food to feed the monkeys would have been good because they do demand money after being quiet persistent about "helping" you feeding the monkeys! Otherwise a great experience that we really enjoyed!

Great

Great trip, long day. Varied scenery. 11 hours. Enjoyed. Watch out for monkeys when you eating , dive bombed our table and took bread.

Great

Trip takes you out into the country, good clean coffee stop and toilet, change for tips required. A nice wander with the waterfalls and views. Lunch was nice, anyone afraid of large monkeys do not go, they jump onto the table and steal bread even with our hand clapping and waiter trying to shoo. Could be daunting. Usual stalls but a relaxing day out and beautiful things to see. Bus trip approx 2 hours each way with short break halfway

Poor

It was 11 hours and not 4-8 hours as billed. The majority of the time was largely on the coach. The trip to the stalactites was not worth the detour, the time walking down the steps for no view as the earthquake last year had dislodged boulders and made the walking route unsafe to continue on. It was also a much longer slower journey back to the hotel from the last stop.

Excellent

There isn’t anything we didn’t like. Our guide was informative the whole time from the start of the journey to the end. Interesting facts and knowledge of the country whilst travelling, ample stops (as we had some distance to go which initially was a concern) and we felt very safe with the driver round the winding roads which initially was another concern. The waterfalls were of course amazing, as was the location for lunch which was delicious. The last stop, also an amazing site of stalactites

Average

The booking in the app said 4 to 8 hours duration and ours was 10. In total we had about 7 hours on the coach. Had I known this was the case I most likely wouldn't have booked the trip. Our guide was knowledgeable but insisted on using a particular route down to the fall's saying that the other route wasn't safe. It became evident that the other route was fine but the one we took had lots of shops/stalls and our guide knew everyone. Due to this we missed some of the views of the falls.
