Prepare to pick your jaw up from the floor when you first spot the towering 400-metre-high sandstone pillars jutting out from the earth. The UNESCO-protected Meteora are set against the impressive backdrop of the Pindus Mountain Range – making your pics on this trip a photographer's dream. You'll visit two of the six remaining active monasteries, which look like they're simply floating, perched on the great hunks of rock. After you've learnt about the monks and their 800-year history here, you'll head to Kalambaka, in the foothills of the mountains. Enjoy some free time to wander around the town and grab some lunch before heading back to your accommodation.

Just so you know, entrance fees aren't included and it costs around three Euros per person, per monastery
To show your respect, please wear long trousers or skirts when entering the monasteries
Remember to bring your camera, a hat, water, comfortable shoes and money for monastery entrances, drinks and lunch
There'll be a short stop to and from Meteora where you can buy coffee and use the toilets

Die Anreise, je nach Hotel, ist sehr lang im Verhältnis zum Ereignis selbst. Aus den 4-6 h Ausflugsauer sind am Ende 10h geworden. Der Eintritt pro Kloster kostet zur Zeit 5€ . Die Mittagspause im Ort war von der Zeit her völlig ausreichend, aber das empfohlene Restaurant sehr teuer, die Reiseleitung selbst, hat sich dort nicht aufgehalten!? Kenne ich so nicht von Ausflügen .... Man hatte den Eindruck von Business.....

Kompetente Reiseleitung, gut organisiert, gut betreut, Fragen wurden ausführlich beantwortet, viel Hintergrundswissen, einfach ein spannender und überwältigender Ausflug.... nur zu empfehlen

Der Preis für die Klöster beträgt mittlerweile 5€ pro Person. Dies sollte bei der Beschreibung geändert werden

Die Tour hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Fahrt zum Ziel war sehr interessant. Unsere Reiseleiterin Viccy war hervorragend. Wir haben sehr viele und interessante Informationen bekommen, die ich bei eigener Anreise, nicht erhalten hätte. Ganz lieben Dank Viccy. 😀 Die Klöster waren ein Traum. Ich würde diese Tour auf jeden Fall noch einmal buchen.
