Off-road through luscious landscapes and be charmed by Boa Vista's untouched beauty on this action-packed 4x4 tour. Roberto, one of our local guides, says, ‘The Viana desert is Boa Vista's very own chunk of the Sahara. Its sand is blown in from western Africa, creating huge dunes, which we'll rally up and down.' Leave no stone unturned as you visit the shipwreck on Santa Maria beach, before stopping in Sal Rei village and Povoaçao Velha. Plus, there's lunch by the sea in a beachfront restaurant.The fun kicks off in the Viana desert. Feel the wind in your hair as you rumble over the sand dunes in a 4x4. Then, you're off to discover the rusting shipwreck of Cabo de Santa Maria – a symbol of Boa Vista. Roberto says, ‘There are about 150 shipwrecks on the islands of Cape Verde, but this one is the most mysterious of all. It's a great place to snap a selfie, too.' You'll have a quick stop in Sal Rei for a glimpse at the capital's fishing pier, before a locally-sourced lunch is served at a nearby beach restaurant.Next up is a pit stop in Povoaçao Velha – the oldest settlement on the island. Have a poke around this isolated hamlet and enjoy a look into local life, before our final stop, Santa Monica beach. Boasting 15km of white sand and undulating dunes, it's no wonder it was voted one of the world's top 10 beaches. Ein toller Ausflug um etwas über die Insel zu erfahren und zu erleben. Das Sandboarding war cool jedoch etwas kurz und nicht so aufregend wie gedacht. Vom Schiffswrack ist leider auch nicht mehr viel zu sehen, liegt aber nicht an TUI sondern am Zahn der Zeit. Mittagessen war Klasse, tolles Lokal super Atmosphäre. Alles in allem ein toller Tag und eine gefundene Abwechslung zum Strandalltag. Preis ist für die Leistung gerechtfertigt, Fahrer und Reiseleitung top, kann man nicht meckern.

We had the 4x4 tour on 26/06 (Friday), and I just wanted to say that Paulo was absolutely amazing. He is honestly one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. You can immediately tell that he truly loves what he does. He spoke about his country with so much passion, pride and heart that it made the whole experience incredibly special. It wasn’t just a tour – thanks to Paulo, we actually got to understand and appreciate Boa Vista and Cape Verde in a completely different way.

Alles war perfekt organisiert, wir hatten tolle Guides und einen sicheren und sehr freundlichen Fahrer. Das Essen war sehr lecker, Badestopp wurde kurzfristig verlegt, da am Santa Monica Beach nicht gebadet werden durfte. Somit dort ein Stopp zum Anschauen und Bewundern. Alles in allem ein toller Tag!

Wir haben uns mehr von der Tour erhofft, haben sehr viel Zeit im Auto verbracht, dafür viel zu wenig Informationen über die Insel und keinen Einblick in das Leben der Einheimischen bekommen Direkt am Anfang waren wir in einer Bar, was total unnötig war. Dafür in Sal Rei nur 25 Minuten Zeit gehabt, viel zu wenig Zeit um in der Stadt etwas zu sehen oder Souvenirs einzukaufen. An der Santa Monika Strand dann 1 Stunde verbracht, viel zu lange. Das Mittagessen in der Strandbar war sehr gut.

Andere Anbieter bieten deutlich mehr Programm zu diesem Preis. Die Reiseleiterin hat leider Rückfragen nur sehr gelangweilt oder gar nicht beantwortet. Positiv war unser Fahrer. Dieser hat deutlich mehr über das Leben auf Boa Vista zu erzählen gehabt.

The only thing that we were not overly impressed with was the stay in Sal Rei. As usual a queue for the WC and a not so pleasant encounter with a local resident. Have to say our guide, when he was made aware, along with the help of a police officer sorted it out. The initial restaurant we visited was good. The lunchtime restaurant was amazing. We also have to mention our driver. We all enjoyed the banter. Last but not least we made 4 brilliant friends with fellow passengers. Thank you

Die Tour war insgesamt sehr schön. Das Sandboarding war nicht unbedingt nötig, aber das ist wohl Geschmacksache. Ganz besonders gut hat uns der Besuch des Santa Monica Beachs gefallen ebenso wie die Wüstenrot, die gerne noch länger hätte dauern können. Aber alles in allem war es eine sehr schöne Tour, die preislich vielleicht etwas hochpreisig war.

Ich bin es leid jedes mal nach Trinkgeld für die Fahrer durch den Guide angesprochen zu werden. Der Befehlston des Guides war unmöglich und jedes mal hat sie angemerkt das sie schon alles bezahlt hat, wenn wir Stops beim essen oder trinken hatten. Nicht sie hat es bezahlt sondern wir! Außerdem ähneln die Ausflüge immer mehr Kaffeefahrten, ein Stop nach dem anderen um den Touris das Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen. Es ist viel angenehmer von sich aus Trinkgeld zu geben und nicht gezwungen wird.

Unsere Reiseleiterin Bekki und die Fahrer waren top, ein tolles Erlebnis! Einzig der sandboarding Hügel könnte durchaus etwas größer sein. Und schade dass wir am Santa Monika beach nicht baden konnten aber dafür kann ja niemand etwas.

Bonjour, la jeep n'était pas adaptée aux personnes âgées. Les excursions étaient banales, il n'y avait rien de très intéressant. 30 min de visite dans la capitale, ce n'est clairement pas assez. Le restaurant en bord de mer était bien. La plage de ce côté-là est bien mieux qu'à Santa Monica. La petite chapelle, aucun intérêt. La plage Santa Monica, aucun intérêt, c'est une plage beaucoup trop sauvage. Par contre, le chauffeur et le guide étaient parfaits!

Die geschossenen Geländewagen mit Klimaanlage waren echt gut aber auch mehr als Sinnvoll, da bei den offenen Geländewagen der Konkreten sie Sicherheit zu schlecht ist und der Sonnenbrand garantiert ist.

Nous sommes arrivés mercredi et nous n'avons eu la rencontre avec le responsable TUI que le samedi après midi . Donc nous étions obligés de faire l'excursion avec des anglais sinon avec les français c'était après notre retour... dommage pour le manque d'organisation sur place : quand le responsable est en vacances il faut le remplacer pour l'accueil des touristes!

Overpriced for what you get. The highlight was the shipwreck, this is nothing more than a rustbucket. The majority of the time you spend in te jeep on the dirt roads with nothing to see. Stops are too short especially Sal Rei where you can do some shopping but then again one hour at the beach? The best of the tour was the piece of tuna for lunch. For me this is a tourist trap

Sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man an eine. Tag viel von der Insel sehen will. Beki hat uns den ganzen Tag gut unterhalten und vieles über die Insel erzählt. Die Fahrt mit dem Geländewagen macht auch Spaß, wenn man keine Probleme mit dem Rücken hat. Essen im Restaurant am Strand lecker und in einem wunderschönen Ambiente.

The ride was really uncomfortable, as the seating in the back of the vehicle was far too low and inadequate for such a rough journey with six adults. The lunch was really lovely with friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Dava who stepped in was really good fun and made the trip enjoyable. The driver was also very skilful and spoke fairly good English We did visit some lovely places and overall enjoyed the experience allowing us to see more of Boa Vista, than we otherwise would have.

Guide, Fahrer und der Ausflug war super. Obwohl ich z.Z. Probleme mit Knie und Hüfte habe, konnte ich den Ausflug mitmachen. Ich persönlich hätte lieber etwas mehr Zeit noch in einem kleinen Ort verbracht bei Land und Leute, statt zu baden, denn baden kann ich an allen Tagen am Strand vorm Hotel.

Vielleicht könnte man bei Santa Maria den Leuten die möchten eine Mülltüte geben, dass man in den 10-15min Aufenthalt etwas Müll sammeln könnte, der dann abends gesammelt von einem TUI Mitarbeiter abgeholt werden kann. Wir hätten gerne geholfen den Bereich etwas vom Müll zu befreien... Die Tour war toll und hat uns sehr gefallen Becky die Guide und unser Fahrer waren klasse!

Wonderful experience guide was exceptional unfortunately lunch wasn't good. Requested 2 chicken and 1 fish lunch booking rep put us down for 2 meat 1 fish we do not like beef and this spoilt the whole experience which was a shame checked with guide our meal choice and we had been put down for 2 meat

Enjoyed the day but we was promised a stop at a market which didn't happen, I think everyone on the trip was disappointed with this, Also I think the price was a bit to high for what we got, we spent more time in the jeep than we did sightseeing

We felt that more time could be allowed at the shipwreck to help with a little beach clean a small bag to collect rubbish. Little more time at the harbour to allow time to enjoy coffee/ice-cream and shop Time at the beach to swim was plenty of time

Visite 9h 15h30 30 minutes d'arrêt à sal rei en autonomie, j'aurais aimé une vraie visite guidée puis un temps libre pour le shopping, surtout que nous avions le temps puisque nous sommes rentrés à 15h30 d'autres compagnies certifiées propose la même excursion pour 70€ Le guide parlait bien français et était sympathique, mais les explications étaient légères Véhicule propre

Gut organisierte Tour, super freundliche Reiseführern Becky, am Strand von St. Maria wäre eine sitzmöglichkeit gut, evtl. könnte man auf dem Dachgepäckträger einfache Klappstühle mitnehmen, um auch das Schuh anziehen zu erleichtern in dem Gelände. Ansonsten war es ein toller Tag für uns.

Daya was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and happy. Had personal experiences to relay as well as factual. The cafe in the desert was great and the staff there were very welcoming. The sand surfing was great fun, but husband wanted it to be a longer run!!! The local ‘shopkeepers’ were friendly and we bought some of their wares. Not too pushy! Drive across the sand was quite scary at times. Santa Monica beach was beautiful and the lunch at Moribaza was very good. Could’ve stayed there all day

We had a great time on this tour, definitely recommending to anyone. Our tour guide Daya was brilliant, very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts about the island and Cabo Verde. Daya was super friendly and very engaging. And of course, we can't forget to mention our lovely driver with amazing driving skills.

Sandboarden was een leuke nieuwe belevenis. Tocht door de woestijn en naar het scheepswrak ook. Heerlijke tonijn gegeten bij de beachclub. Nog even een duik bij Santa Monica. Al met al een leuke tour. Hou er rekening mee dat je de dagen erna nog spierpijn hebt in schouders en nek.

This is the second time I’ve been on this tour and I went again because my daughter and her boyfriend were with us. It was better this time at the restaurant because we could choose what meat we preferred and I chose chicken. Last time it was vegetarian or meat and you didn’t know what you were getting and I got steak which I don’t eat but my husband was very happy because he got mine. The setting at the restaurant is absolutely stunning. Disappointed by the beach swim to far out now.

Daya the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, funny and even though he said he felt unwell still managed to look after us and keep us entertained. Daya is a credit to Tui and even took to the guitar and sang a few songs at the beach hut lunch. Worth the money. Just wish we had longer at Santiago beach.

De lunch aan het strand was echt wel heel goed, aanrader de tonijn! De reisgids was heel leuk, vertelde ook veel veel over het leven op Boa Vista en de chauffeur was zeer ervaren. Verder vonden wij de excursie aan de dure kant voor wat je te zien /doen krijgt.

It was making an island tour for the sake of getting money out of people. Been to Sal Island and the island tour was good., the tour at Boa Vista was poor, nothing to really tour and see / do. Just a way to get money out of you and could have been half a day.
