Enjoy a fun excursion to Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe and a UNESCO site since 2013. Leave Taormina with your tour leader on board a comfortable coach and reach the Etna station located at about 1.900 meters. After a technical stop, you'll ascend to the authorised crater areas at approximately 2,900 meters alongside licensed guides from the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), who will lead you on a soft trek.Weather permitting, you'll stop in a designated safety zone to observe the activity of the summit craters. Warm clothing and suitable shoes are recommended and can be rented on site. Access to Etna's authorised crater areas is always accompanied by guides from the CAI, who are responsible for visitors' safety and follow the decisions of the relevant authorities in response to changes in volcanic activity and permitted altitude.

Meeting point:
The departure point is the Bus Terminal in Via Pirandello (not the Greek theatre). From the Porta Messina arch, take Via Pirandello on the right and continue downhill for about 500 metres until you reach the terminal on your right. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before departure.

On time and well organised, although the guide could have been a little more explicit in her explanations - we weren't sure exactly what to do at certain times (although when we asked her she was more than happy to give us the details). Everything was as we expected and very worthwhile.

Guter Service - wir wurden da abgeholt, wo uns bequem war, dank problemlosem Kontakt über E-Mail. Einzigartiges Erlaubnis auf Ätna ist empfehlenswert. Aber sehr langes anstehen in den Schlangen für die Seilbahn und nachher für die Geländewagen um oben anzukommen, sodass keine Zeit bleibt um da etwas Zeit zu verbringen und sich anzugucken, weil man schon zurück in den Bus muss.

Im Vorfeld wurden individuelle Fragen über das Medium WhatsApp super schnell beantwortet. Der Abholort wurde vom Dienstleister selber vorgeschlagen und hat super geklappt. Die Durchführung war klasse, sicher und die Reiseleiterin Alexandra super nett und sehr informativ, ohne zu viel Infos zu erzählen. TOP von der Buchung bis Tourende! Vielen Dank dafür.

Mount Etna itself was fantastic, however the trip was awful. We basically paid for a coach ticket there and back which was way overpriced. We didn’t know no tour was included as the description said ascend from a cable car and jeep. When we got off the bus, the guide gathered everyone together but told us that we only had the basic ticket. She took everyone else off up the mountain and pointed vaguely in the direction we needed to go to see a crater. So we had no guide at all.
